[UPDATE] We Want to Come Train You - Maybe for Free

Greg and I are looking to put together some classes in 2009 - public, in-person training on Windows PowerShell, What’s New and Changed in Win2008 (which will help set you up for Win7, too, of course), and Terminal Services. They’d be delivered in a week-long format of expert-led training.

To that end, we’re looking for organizations that might be interested in hosting a week-long class, in exchange for a couple of free seats in it - meaning you could score some free training!

Here’s the hosting criteria:

  • Anyplace in the US or Canada is okay; overseas is fine to suggest, too, although it’ll require some more planning. Ideally you should be situated near a major metropolitan area - we’ll only do the class if we can get more than just you to attend!
  • You must have a meeting room facility capable of comfortably seating 15 or more people and their laptops (including sufficient power outlets for us all). If you have a computer training room complete with computers, so much the better - 15 folks must fit, though.
  • We must be permitted to have food brought in for lunches (you don’t have to pay for that).
  • The facility must be able to accommodate a projector and screen, if one isn’t built in. We’re capable of bringing our own if there’s room for it.
  • Ideally, your facility isn’t a heavily secured one, meaning people can go to the bathroom without an escort and won’t be subjected to a cavity search on the way in every morning.
  • Also ideally, your facility is convenient to free or inexpensive parking for the other students - we realize this makes many downtown locations ineligible, but asking folks to pay $30 a day for parking kinda stings for those who aren’t used to it. This wouldn’t rule you out completely, but let us know what your situation is.

Right now we’re fixed on a facility in Colorado and probably one in Houston; we’re looking for something on the East Coast of the US as a priority, and preferably one in the Northeast (New York, Philadelphia, that general neighborhood).

Interested? Use the “contact” link in the menu bar to send us an e-mail, or drop a line to podcast at concentratedtech [period] com. We’ll have our planner guy get back with you and see if we can put something together!

[UPDATE] We’re also interested in fleshing out our fifth “bonus” training day. The idea is that days 1-2 will cover “Windows Server 2008: What’s New, What’s Changed,” while days 3-4 will focus on Windows PowerShell. Signing up for the full week gets you a bonus fifth day, which we were originally planning as a Terminal Services workshop. But what would YOU want to see? A half-day Server Core workshop? A half-day on Windows 7 server features? Three different topics crammed into one day? Design the training you want!
